1. The app is your key. Lock the car with the app throughout your booking.

2. The key connects to the car via Bluetooth.

3. Lock the car with the buttons on the driver's door when you’re inside the car.

Your Volvo On Demand app is your key to the car. Unlock the car with the swipe function in your app. There is no physical key in the car. When you need to run errands during your booking, use the app in the same way to lock and unlock the car. Read more here about how the key works.

If you have unlocked the car with the app and don’t open a door within approximately 1 minute, the car will automatically lock, and you’ll need to unlock it again.

The key connects to the car via Bluetooth, so make sure your Volvo On Demand app has access to your phone's Bluetooth. Sometimes, the app also needs an internet connection for the key to work.

If you can’t unlock the car, you can try the following steps:

  • Turn off and on Bluetooth on your phone.

  • Restart the Volvo On Demand app on your phone.

  • Walk around the car with Bluetooth enabled to establish a connection to the car.

  • Are you sharing a digital key? Then, ensure only one of you is connected to Bluetooth for the car to find the key.

  • Make sure you have the latest version of our app on your phone.
