What do I need to know when driving monthly?

We are currently not accepting new bookings with our Monthly offer.

When you make a monthly reservation, you reserve a car month by month. The reservation will be automatically renewed as long as you need a car, or choose to end your subscription. No lock-ins or long contracts. Start and cancel in the app.

  • Full insurance with excess reduction is always included.

  • 1,500 km per month, with no extra cost. After that, a cost of 2 kr/km is added.

  • Fuel, parking, tolls is not included in the price.

If you drive regularly, a monthly reservation is suited for you. You’ll get access to a car from one month to as long as you need it. Simply make a reservation and cancel the reservation directly in the app.

What does a monthly reservation cost?

The price depends on the car you choose. To see the current rate, start a reservation in the app. You'll get 1 500 km/month with no extra cost. After that a cost of 2 kr/km is added.

Am I fully insured the entire subscription period?

Yes. When driving On Demand you are always fully insured. With a monthly reservation, a full insurance with excess reduction is included during the whole subscription period. You can also choose to add an excess waiver. Read more about insurance here.

How does included mileage work?

You'll get 1 500 km/month with no extra cost. If you drive over 1 500 km, a cost of 2 kr/km is added.

How does the payment work?

We accept debit and credit cards. Before you reserve a car, you need to add a card as a payment method. The cost is automatically deducted on the first day of a new 30-day period.

Wish to cancel?
You can cancel no later than 3 days before the next renewal date–you’ll see the next renewal date in the app. Read more about pricing and payments here.

Is parking included?

Parking during a reservation (whether in separate parking spots or at our stations) is not included.

Is fuel included?

No. Fuel or charging is not included when driving monthly. You pay yourself for the fuel and the battery you consume during your reservation. Keep in mind that when you end your monthly reservation, the car should be returned with 100% fuel. Electric cars should be returned with 80% battery level.

What charging cables comes with the car?

Our hybrids and electric cars comes with a Type 2 cable that works for charging stations. In our electric cars, you'll find the charing cable in the front space of the car, also called the "frunk".


Can I go abroad with the car?
If you want to travel outside Scandinavia and Finland, you are welcome to contact us.

Is there an age limit to use Volvo On Demand?

Yes. You need to be 20 years old to be able to use our cars. Read more about the age limit here.

I’m about to pick up the car, how does it work?

When reserving a Volvo car, you’ll choose from our available cars in the app, where you can see where and when the available cars can be picked up. When the reservation is ready, you’ll get the address and directions to the depot in the app. The car will be ready to be picked up between 07.30-21.30 on the chosen start date.

Can I cancel a reservation before it starts?

Yes. If you want to cancel your reservation before it starts, then the same conditions apply as when you drive with Free or Premium. If you drive Free, a cancellation can be done no later than 4 hours before the start time–the start time is 07.30 on the chosen start date. If you drive Premium, you can cancel 30 minutes before the start time.

For example: You made a reservation on June, 17. You can cancel before the subscription starts no later than June, 17 at 03.30 (Free) and June, 17 at 07.00 (Premium).

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from when the reservation has started–until 3 days before the renewal of a new 30-day period. Please note that your subscription will automatically renew if you don’t cancel 3 days before the next 30-day period. The cost is then deducted as usual from your chosen payment method on the first day of a new period.

What applies when returning the car?

You can return the car whenever you want during the subscription period. The car should be returned to the same depot as you picked it up–you’ll receive the address and directions in the app.

Remember to:

  • Clean: The car should be cleaned when you return it. Dirt is cleaned up, rubbish is taken out of the car and remember to bring your personal belongings. If you forget something in the car, please contact Customer Care.

  • Refuelling: The car should be returned with full tank or battery level. If you drive XC40 Recharge Pure Electric or C40 Recharge Pure Electric should the car be returned with 80% battery level.

  • Return the car in time: In case of delays, a cost of 895 kr per day is added.
